Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church

Ushers and Greeters
The ushers are the first faces that a visitor or newcomer sees, upon entering the doors to St. Andrew’s church. They provide a welcoming and friendly face to all who enter.
Ushers assist with the greeting of those entering the church, distributing worship service bulletins; coordinating the offering collection; guiding those receiving communion; and straightening up the nave pews after the service.
When greeting first time visitors, ushers will make an effort to present them with a Welcome Bag, containing printed material about St. Andrew’s, recent newsletters, a Sunday School pamphlet, and a container of delicious home baked cookies from Ginny Bussey.
Ushering is not a difficult task, and we have a printed guide for those who have an interest in joining our group.
Our 10 a.m. service ushers currently number 14 people and there are 6 ushers for the 8 a.m. service. Two ushers serve at the 10 a.m. service. One serves at the 8 a.m. service. We have a mix of men, women, and youth but always welcome more volunteers. Additional volunteers will help meet the goal of having each usher serve only once a month. Besides Sunday services ushers also take part in other scheduled services.
Please consider joining our team of ushers. We are very flexible in our scheduling. Please see Rick Anderson regarding 10 a.m. ushers, and John Batzer for 8 a.m. ushers. Rick schedules the 10 a.m. ushers on a monthly basis and John schedules the 8 a.m. ushers quarterly. We also welcome volunteers who may be interested in acting as a Greeter.
