Events

Several exciting and meaningful enrichment programs are held throughout the church school year to enhance and support the Christian education goals of St. Andrew’s for children and families. Through these events children learn to help others, to help the church, and learn about our church community.

Blessing of the Animals.  Each year our church holds an annual service honoring St. Francis.  Francis was a humble man who loved God's creatures. Pets are brought to this Holy Eucharist service for a blessing by our Rector.

Chrismon Tree. This is a tree to honor Christ. Chrismon means…Christ’s Monogram or Name.  A Chrismon ornament is gold for royalty and white for purity. Children help decorate Chrismon symbol ornaments, learn about the theme symbols and help decorate the Chrismon Tree in church at Christmas time.

St. Nicholas Visits. Long ago St. Nicholas gave gifts of love, good health and good deeds. He visits St. Andrew’s to give oranges and gold foil chocolate coins to children following the service. We hope that each child will learn about doing good deeds for others.

Christmas Narrative with Live Sheep. We hold a Christmas Narrative with Christmas Carols and Live Sheep. This popular event is at 4:00p.m. on December 24. It is especially designed for youths and families. The Eucharist follows the Christmas Narrative.  Click here to learn more.

Bible Story Journey. A special journey is held during Sunday school time as the children and teachers travel through areas of the church to hear storytellers tell Bible Stories.

Easter Egg Hunt. This joyful event is held on Easter Sunday after the 10 am church service. Children bring baskets and then go out to search the playgrounds for Easter Eggs filled with special treats!
